Mokwatedi Dental Clinic respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

It covers information you give us on mokwatedidental.co.za, for example when you request an appointment. Information we collect at the clinic during treatment is covered by our patient records practices.

When you request an appointment on our website, we collect:

• your full name and phone number
• your email address, if you choose to give it
• how you would like us to reply (WhatsApp, phone call or email)
• the type of dental help you need, for example a check-up, a filling or an emergency
• your preferred appointment time
• anything else you choose to tell us in the message box

We use this information only to respond to your request and arrange your appointment. We do not use it for marketing, and we never sell it.

We collect it because you agree to it: the form asks for your consent before you send it. You can withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.

Website use: this website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Telling us the type of dental help you need is information about your health, which POPIA treats as special personal information. We only collect the general category you choose so we can book the right appointment. Please don't share detailed medical information through the website. We'll discuss your health in person at the clinic.

Your information is seen only by the clinic's staff who handle appointments. To run the website and receive your request, it passes through:

• our website host, Netlify, which receives and stores your appointment request
• WhatsApp or email, if that's how you asked us to reply

These services only process your information to deliver your request. We don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

If your request becomes an appointment, your details become part of your patient record and are kept as required for health records. If it doesn't, we delete your website request within 12 months.

The website uses a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to appointment requests is limited to clinic staff who need it, and we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

Under POPIA, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct information that is wrong or out of date
• delete information we no longer need
• stop contacting you

To make a request, contact our Information Officer using the details in section 2. We'll respond within a reasonable time and won't charge you for a simple request.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: www.inforegulator.org.za.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it took effect.
